Changelog
2026-09-29
Changed
-
My meetMyRC is laid out more simply. Your areas sit on the left, the overviews use the full width, and models, components, receipts and your account open on pages of their own with tabs. “Pool” becomes “In stock”.
-
Your photos stay the way you took them – there is nothing left to crop. Hop-ups and components no longer have a photo; photos already uploaded to hop-ups are removed.
-
The model wall can be sorted. By last update, name, owner or division; the land and water filter is gone from there.
Fixed
- Several drive time entries on one day are counted correctly. The highest total counts as the current one, and the difference no longer turns negative.
2026-09-28
Changed
- The model page is clearer. Spec sheet, story and build sheet are clearly separated, and the diary shows the newest entries – you find all the others on a page of its own.
2026-09-25
Changed
-
“Electronics” becomes “Components”. The area for servo, ESC, receiver and motor is now called “My components”, the section on the model page “Components”.
-
All your models are public. Every model you add appears in your showroom; the visibility switch is gone. Nothing of an account can be seen until it is confirmed.
-
You can change your username at any time. Links with the model code keep working, and your old username becomes available for new registrations immediately.
2026-08-31
Added
-
You decide about cookies. On your first visit a banner asks whether we may measure how our advertising performs. Necessary cookies keep running, everything else only after your yes – and you change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.
-
You can sign in with Google. The sign-in and sign-up pages carry a button for it. Whoever takes that route needs no password and no longer has to confirm their e-mail address – Google has already done that. From Google we receive only your e-mail address, no name and no profile picture. You still choose your username yourself.
-
Your account page shows how you sign in, and lets you set a password if you have only been using Google so far. After that, the link to Google can be undone again.
Fixed
- The privacy policy and the changelog were shown cut off past a certain length. Both pages show their full text again.
2026-08-30
Added
-
You can delete your account yourself. In your account settings, immediately and for good, with every model, photo and entry. Where someone replied to one of your comments, a marker stays so their reply does not go with it.
-
You can change your username once. As long as you have not published a model, you can correct the name in your account. After that it stays, so shared links do not run into nothing.
Changed
-
After registering you can start right away. No more waiting for the confirmation mail: you are signed in and can add your models. Until your e-mail address is confirmed you simply cannot publish, comment or like – and if you mistyped it, you correct the address right in the notice at the top. Without confirmation the account is deleted after seven days; we remind you the day before.
-
Registration now says what meetMyRC is for. Beside the form stand the three things you do here, and below it what an account costs and what becomes public. The username is proposed from your e-mail address – you can change it as long as you have not published a model.
-
Registration no longer asks for your country. It was never shown anywhere and could not be changed afterwards. One mandatory field less on the way into your account.
2026-08-24
Changed
-
The landing page describes the areas more concretely. Models, diary and expenses now say what you actually do there, instead of making a general claim.
-
The area is called racetracks now – Rennstrecken in German. That is what it holds, and what the product concentrates on. Navigation, catalog and every page follow, in both languages, and so do the addresses – old links keep working and redirect to the new one on their own.
2026-08-21
Added
- Directions for locations. Some places a navigation system simply gets wrong: the entrance sits past the roundabout, the gate looks closed, the last stretch is a dirt track. Where it matters, the details now carry directions in plain words, next to the address and the map. Locations where the address is enough look exactly as before.
2026-08-08
Changed
-
The “element” is now a “division”. Whether a model runs on land or on water used to be called its element – the field now reads division everywhere, the way clubs name their sections. Nothing else changes: filters, links and choices stay exactly as they were.
-
The spec sheet starts with division and category. In a model's details both now sit at the top – what it is first, then whose it is and what it is called. The model page, the showroom and the edit form all follow the same order.
2026-08-07
Added
-
Search and a type filter in “My electronics”. The overview now carries the same search and the same picker as “My models” and the receipts: type a name or a manufacturer, or pick a type – the pool and the installed list are filtered together, and empty groups disappear.
-
Search on the model wall. It now carries the same search the racetrack directory has: model and manufacturer.
Changed
-
Models stand the same on every wall. On a phone a model tile now fills the full width, on a tablet two stand side by side, on a desktop three – exactly like the racetracks. The cover photo is twice the size on a phone as a result. The landing page shows fewer models instead of smaller ones.
-
Overviews show 24 entries per page instead of 16 – matching the new card grid, so the last row of a full page is never a partial one.
-
Buttons can be hit with a thumb. Every icon button is at least 44 pixels on a phone now – on a desktop it stays compact. That includes the arrows in the photo album, which exist because dragging does not work on touch.
-
A refused sign-in now looks like an error rather than a hint.
-
Comments read the same everywhere. The input field now sits at the top of every section with the newest post right under it. Replies inside a post stay chronological, so a conversation still reads forwards.
-
Links are added in place. A model link used to open a page of its own for two fields. It now unfolds on the page, like the drive time and the receipt surcharge.
-
Public or private now reads as an eye. Instead of a globe and a padlock, every model carries an open eye for “public” and a crossed-out one for “private” – the same pair everywhere visibility matters.
-
A form left open too long now tells you. Leaving a form open for hours and then submitting it used to produce no reaction at all. Now an error page appears, so you know the page needs reloading.
-
Diary, album, links and runtime now live under their model. Their addresses changed with it – an old bookmark pointing straight at one of those pages leads nowhere. Reaching them through the model works as before.
2026-08-04
Changed
-
Models now carry an element. Rather than “car” and “boat”, a model records what it moves in – land or water. That fits a truggy or a monster truck as well as a boat, and in the showroom the element sits as a small symbol directly in front of the category instead of taking a word of its own. Your models and their categories are unchanged.
-
Filter by element. “My models”, Explore and the racetracks can be narrowed to one element. The filter appears by itself once there is more than one to show – while everything is land, it stays out of the way.
-
The navigation entry for the public model wall now reads “Models” instead of “Explore” – the page itself already carried the name.
2026-08-02
Changed
- The personal area in the navigation is now called “My meetMyRC” instead of “My content”.
2026-07-31
Changed
- Comments feel the same everywhere. Under a model or on a location page – comments now follow the same rules wherever they appear. Where the same thing used to be called differently, it now shares one word, and every message follows one pattern. Empty comment sections carry a heading everywhere instead of a single line of text.
Fixed
- On a model's showroom page, notices from an entirely different action could appear under the comments. Only messages belonging to the comments show there now.
2026-07-29
Added
- A photo album for your models: every model gets a photo album of up to nine photos, in any aspect ratio. Upload several at once, optionally give each a caption and drag them into the order you like. They appear as an album on your model's page in the showroom; a click opens the photo large and uncropped, with arrows and swiping to the next.
Changed
-
The cover photo is no longer hidden: the model page now leads with the cover photo – its own section at the top, with a clear “Add cover photo” for as long as there is none. Before, the upload sat behind “Edit the Aufmacher” below the specs, and many people simply never found it.
-
Switch required components right in the list: which electronics your model needs as individual parts is now set directly in the electronics list – one switch per row, saved immediately. A type switched off stays visible and reads “Not needed” instead of vanishing from the list. A type with a component on it cannot be switched off. The old block of switches in the edit form is gone.
-
Delete photos: a photo can now be removed again, not only replaced – via the trash button on the picture. This covers a model's cover photo, a diary entry's cover photo, and the photos of hop-ups and components.
-
“Photo” instead of “Cover photo” for hop-ups and components: there the picture stands for the part itself, not for a cover – so the term is simply “Photo” now.
-
“Description” is now “Story”: the text about your model is called Story everywhere – in the tool as well as in the showroom. Cover photo and story are now separate sections you edit one at a time.
2026-07-27
Added
-
Assign and create components right on the model: On a model's page you now assign a component from your pool directly via “Assign a component” – or create a new one in the same dialog. Installed components are removed via the row's “…” menu; they return to the pool. Placement is now managed entirely at the model.
-
Your private models on your own profile: On your public profile you – and only you – now also see your private (unpublished) models, in a separate “Only visible to you” section, clearly marked as private. Visitors still don't see them.
Changed
-
“Inventory” is now “My electronics”: The area for your installable electronics (servo, ESC, receiver, motor) was renamed – a single item is now a “component” (instead of “RC component”), the collective heading “Electronics”. The page now leads with your pool (available components) and, below it, “Installed” – where each part currently sits, with a link to its model, both grouped by type; the old model-by-model listing is gone.
-
Model page: “Aufmacher” instead of one big “Edit”: The cover photo and description now form their own “Aufmacher” section (below the details). You edit each section directly via “Edit details” / “Edit the Aufmacher” – the single top-right “Edit” button is gone.
-
Small things: In comments the avatar image now links to the profile too, and meetMyRC links become clickable everywhere automatically – in comments, descriptions and the diary (retroactively in existing content as well). The electronics lists are sorted alphabetically by the shown name.
2026-07-23
Added
- Boats: Alongside cars you can now add boats. When creating a model you first pick the type (car or boat) – boats get their own categories (Deep-V/Mono, catamaran, hydroplane, sailboat …) and an optional hull length, and live in the same area as your cars, with the diary, hop-ups, showroom and everything else.
Changed
-
“Garage” is now “Models”: The area for your collection is now called “Models”, and where it said “vehicle” it now says “model” – fitting now that it holds more than just cars.
-
Recently edited models first: The model walls on the home page and under “Explore” now show the most recently edited models first – no longer the most recently added ones. Real build activity counts as an edit too: a new diary entry, a hop-up, a newly assigned component, a link or a new drive-time reading moves your model back to the top.
2026-07-15
Added
- Add RC components faster: On a vehicle's page you can now add a still missing component straight from its row via a plus icon – the vehicle and type are already preselected.
Changed
- Model code in the model address: A public model page's address now carries the model code right after the name (e.g. “…/WhteRbt/CATD/tamiya-sand-scorcher”). So the code travels along even when you copy the address straight from the browser bar and share it – and a shared link stays valid even if you rename the model later. Older links keep working and redirect to the new address automatically. The short “meetmyrc.at” link (QR code, forum signature) is unchanged.
2026-07-12
Added
- Like models: You can now like a public model with one click. A heart on the model page marks the build, and a public counter shows how often it has been liked. “Liked models” in the account menu gathers them all again, sortable by like date or model name.
2026-07-11
Added
- Maps for locations: A location page now shows a map of the spot. With a precise address a pin sits exactly on it; when only the postal code is known, a soft circle marks the approximate area along with a note. A click on the map opens it in Google Maps – handy for planning a route to the spot. The maps themselves we serve from our own server – your device makes no connection to a map service on page load, and no cookies are set.
2026-07-10
Added
-
Locations: A new public directory of places to drive – reachable via “Locations” in the navigation. RC racetracks, indoor halls and clubs lead the way; more kinds of spot follow. Search the list (name, postal code, town), sort it and open an entry for its address, directions and links. If something is off with an entry, you can report it right away. You can also comment on a location – is the spot still active, how's the surface – and compare notes with others.
-
Location title photos: A location can now carry a title photo. When it has one, its detail page leads with a large title photo and the name over it; without one the page stays lean as before. It starts with individual, operator-curated photos – later operators will swap the images themselves via their own access.
Changed
- “My content” navigation: Your personal areas – garage, inventory, expenses and showroom – now live in their own “My content” menu at the far left of the bar, instead of tucked behind your profile picture. The profile picture on the right still opens account, language, accent color and sign-out. So you reach your things in one click everywhere – on the public pages too.
Fixed
- Expenses & hop-ups: A hop-up could be created while recording an expense but then vanished – it could not be assigned to a vehicle. Hop-ups belong to the vehicle and are created there (on the build sheet); in expenses you now only link a position to an existing hop-up. “+ New RC component” is unchanged.
2026-07-08
Added
- Feedback: When you are signed in, you now find an always-visible feedback button in the bottom-right corner. Use it to send us a note directly from any page – a bug, an idea or just a thought, optionally with a category. Every submission reaches us; that is how you help us improve meetMyRC.
2026-07-07
Added
- Country: At registration you now pick your country. This lets us show you content from countries relevant to you later on.
2026-07-06
Added
- Changelog in English: The page is now available in English too. The German version stays authoritative – the English one is a translation and may contain errors.
Changed
-
Language of public pages: Public info pages (Explore, changelog, Support as well as imprint, privacy and terms of use) now carry their language in the address (e.g. “/de/changelog”). So search engines and shared links always get the right language – regardless of the viewer's browser.
-
Filters persist: In expenses, garage and inventory the selected vehicle filter and the search now stay in place when you open an entry or switch pages – previously they were lost.
-
Consistent brand look when sharing: When you share your showroom or a vehicle (forums, chat, social media), the preview card now always appears in the meetMyRC Volt – regardless of your personal accent color –, and the browser tab carries a new “RC” icon.
Fixed
-
Expenses: The expenses overview now loads much faster, especially with many receipts – the page previously issued unnecessarily many database queries.
-
Expenses: The amount field's placeholder is now displayed properly localized.
2026-07-05
Added
-
Vehicle links: You can now attach up to three links to each model – the forum build thread, a video or the manufacturer's page, for example. You manage them right on the vehicle page (title + URL, sorted alphabetically by title); in the public showroom they appear as their own “Links” block including the target domain.
-
Drive time: Every model now keeps a drive time. You enter the cumulative total from your transmitter (hours + minutes, with a date); meetMyRC derives the current total runtime and the usage between readings from it. You can record it right on the vehicle page or on a “Driven” diary entry – the public showroom shows the current total in the spec sheet.
Changed
- Diary: The “Activity” field is now called “Event”.
2026-07-04
Added
-
Explore: A new public “Explore” page shows every public model on the platform, page by page. Reachable from the navigation and the home page – so you find other people's builds, not just your own.
-
More from this garage: Below a public model in the showroom you now see the owner's other public models, so you can browse straight from one build into the whole garage.
-
Compact forum signature: In addition to the existing signature banner, “My account” now offers a small 300×50 variant of your garage signature for forums with a tight signature limit – with BBCode, Markdown and HTML to copy; the large banner is unchanged.
-
Featured model: Under “My account” you now pick one model as your “featured” one – it represents you across all shared images (profile card, invitation, forum signatures). Eligible are your public models with a cover photo (from two upwards; with only one it is automatically your featured model); in the garage the current featured model is marked with a star. “My account” is now laid out in two columns for this.
Changed
-
Amazon search links in the public showroom now only appear on the RC components, no longer on the hop-ups – for tuning and self-made parts an Amazon search rarely hits anyway.
-
Inventory & hop-ups: The inventory now holds only your RC components. Hop-ups belong firmly to the vehicle – you create them right on the model and remove them there; re-plugging or parking them in the pool no longer exists.
2026-07-03
Added
-
Comments: Public models in the showroom can now be commented on – logged-in members write comments and one-level replies, anyone can read along. The model's owner is notified about new comments by e-mail (can be turned off under “My account”; on a reply, the author of the replied-to comment as well). The owner's comments are marked with a badge; the author and the model's owner can delete comments again.
-
Avatar: Under “My account” you now upload an avatar (cropped square, shown round) – it appears round next to your comments, otherwise your initial does.
Changed
- Showroom language: Public vehicle pages now appear in your language (the viewer's), no longer in the owner's – the content (description, diary, hop-ups) stays in the language it was created in. We detect your language from the browser and remember it in a cookie; you can switch it any time in the footer – even without signing in.
Fixed
-
Showroom: The spec sheet in the right column no longer stays fixed while scrolling – for large models the lower part (hop-ups, components, share/QR) could otherwise stay hidden until you had scrolled far down the left column. Now the whole spec sheet is visible as you scroll past.
-
Showroom: Logged-in members no longer see a “Register for free now” call on another user's model page.
2026-07-02
Added
-
New home page: The newest public builds now lead the home page (the “showroom wall”). And if you have a four-letter build code at hand, you type it right in and land in the showroom.
-
Terms of use: meetMyRC now has its own terms-of-use page, linked in the footer and on the sign-in and registration pages. It bundles the rules of use – including the right, previously stated in the privacy policy, to change a username or short code in case of abuse, which has moved here.
-
Vendor autocomplete: When recording a receipt, the vendor field suggests the shops you have typed before – less typing, no duplicates from typos. Free text stays possible any time.
2026-07-01
Added
-
“Search on Amazon” links in the showroom: On public vehicle pages you open a pre-filled Amazon search for the matching model or part with one click, for each vehicle, hop-up and RC component. The links are marked with “*” as affiliate links: if you buy through them, you support meetMyRC with a small commission without changing your price.
-
Hop-ups assignable in expenses: A receipt line can now also be assigned to a hop-up (previously only an RC component or vehicle); the cost flows into the associated vehicle. The “assignment” menu is structured by vehicle for this – the pool first, then each vehicle directly selectable, with its hop-ups and RC components under their own headings. If you delete an assigned component or hop-up, the expense stays; only the link is removed.
-
Inventory with a pool: RC components and hop-ups now live in a shared “Inventory” area. Hop-ups can – as components always could – be re-plugged between vehicles and parked in the pool: “which servo saver do I still have lying around”. On the left the places (the pool first, then the vehicles), on the right the selected place with its components and hop-ups. The former “RC components” area is now called “Inventory”.
-
Create parts right while recording: If you type an expense for a new part, you create it in one step – in the “assignment” you pick “+ New RC component” or “+ New hop-up”, add the type or category, done. The part is created in the pool and linked to the expense; you plug it onto the vehicle later in the inventory.
Changed
- Searchable select fields: The longer choice lists now have a search field. For the manufacturer (vehicle, RC component and hop-up), the “assignment” of an expense line and the vehicle selection of the forum signature you just start typing and the list filters along. On the assignment, it stays visible which vehicle and category a hit belongs to while you search. Short lists (category, drive, …) stay as before.
2026-06-30
Added
-
Forum signature: Grab a ready-made forum signature on “My account” (for your whole garage) and on every vehicle detail page (for a single model) – as an image or as text, to copy as BBCode, Markdown or HTML. The image updates automatically and links to your showroom.
-
Photos for hop-ups and RC components: Every hop-up and component can now carry a cover photo – as a thumbnail in the lists, large on the component detail page.
-
Article number for vehicles, hop-ups and RC components: Enter the manufacturer's article number; it shows on the detail page and in the showroom.
Changed
-
Photo upload unified everywhere: Vehicle, diary, hop-up and component upload their photo the same way in the edit form – with a crop (16:9 for vehicle and diary, square for hop-up and component).
-
Shared vehicle links now show the owner: In the link preview and the page title the model reads “by ”. So it is clear at a glance whose build you are sharing.
-
Page titles and link previews consistently carry “meetMyRC” and a uniform spelling – no matter where you share a link (messenger, forum, chat).
-
Costs now appear in the same typeface as the rest of the text instead of set-off figures.
2026-06-29
Added
- meetMyRC has finally launched. From now on you can not only describe and manage your RC models but also show them to the whole world.
